My name is Kristiana. I am a 26 years old Bulgarian. I graduated from the English language school of “Geo Milev” in Rousse. Then, I majored in “Eastern Studies: East, South and Southeast Asia” in the university of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski”. This degree provides me a chance to get to know the depths of the cultural, social, economic and political layers in these Asian countries. I’ve also been studying Chinese and Japanese, in which hopefully I will be fluent one day.
In July 2015, I got accepted as a language exchange student on a full scholarship in China. I was very honored to be one of the few students who got permitted to study in the best university in China – Tsinghua. So, from September 10th, 2015 to July 15th, 2016, China was my home.
My next journey takes me to Japan. In 2018, I was approved by the Japanese government and I am currently on the MEXT scholarship in Kagoshima, Japan. I will be studying not only the language, but I will also be learning more about the different disaster prevention methods that Japan has implemented, as well as more about the Japanese environmental education in school. This is a very important topic for Bulgaria, and I believe that there is much that we can learn from Japan in this regard.
The main focus of this blog will be to keep in touch with my friends and family. It will be my personal diary with lots of photos and videos. I will try my best to post regularly and show interesting sights and details about these beautiful countries. If you want to ask me something or just leave a comment, please, don’t hesitate!
